Summer sure is around the corner. This past weekend I started working on my yard so it can be ready for entertaining and having friends over for BBQ and a good time outdoors. Even though the temperature was not extremely high, I was sweating a lot. Not a pretty picture, sorry if this is TMI. The point is that I was in real need of a cold drink. The more I think about it the more thirsty I get imagining time outside during hot summer days.
I am not a juicer per se but I love when I see easy and refreshing juice ideas that include veggies. This beet, carrot and orange juice is delicious. It is a recipe idea from my friend Laura Termini who has created a series of juice recipes as part of a campaign for the National Honey Board that promotes beauty inside and out. They all sound incredibly good and I will be trying more this summer.
What better way to get your daily dose of veggie than through a tasty drink? Lets all drink our veggies!
The best part of the recipe is the use of a natural ingredient like honey. Honey is a fantastic ingredient, and we can enjoy its benefits by adding it to our diet or even by applying honey to our bodies. Yes, these juice recipes using honey all include a tip on how to use the leftover pulp for DIY beauty recipes perfect for our skin.
Try this at home:
- Blend honey, carrots, celery, orange pulp/juice and beets.
- Add water to achieve consistency of choice.
- Optionally, also add a splash of lemon juice to brighten up the flavors.
Can you tell I liked it? It was so good.
