When it comes to entertaining this holiday season, just one word comes to mind: simple.
I love to host at my home, but for some reason I can’t believe it’s almost the end of the year and I still have not planned a holiday party. I am determined to have some friends over and celebrate with them, but clearly I have a lot to do, and very little time.
Apparently, I am not a lone. This has happened to many people I’ve talked to lately, so I’ve decided to share some ideas for easy and delicious entertaining in case you are also wondering of ways to impress your guests, in no time. My solution? A wine and dessert pairing party. Yes, this is a fun theme, that can be quickly put together and it would be easy for your guests to help out.
Today I want to show you how this can be done with Pacific Rim Rieslings and Sara Lee Desserts.
If baking desserts is not your thing, or you simply want to make things extra simple for this party, then a semi-homemade dessert it is. My ally for semi-homemade desserts it’s definitely Sara Lee. Remember that time I made pound cake suzette? Yup, I used Sara Lee’s pound cake and dressed it up.
For the holidays I love chocolate and peppermint together. Such a classic combination, right? So what you can do is drizzle an original Sara Lee cheesecake with chocolate sauce and sprinkle the top with crushed peppermint. Easy and just as delicious as fully homemade. For this idea, I was inspired by a Pacific Rim and Sara Lee recipe for Peppermint Bark cheesecake. It really sounds to die for.
If you are worried about what wine goes well with it, don’t fear much. All Pacific Rim Rieslings are ideal to be paired with dessert. They have all levels of riesling from extra dry to sweet. For this cheesecake I went with the original riesling, I found it to be the best pair.
What I love about this dessert and wine pairing party is that you can ask your guests to bring a bottle of wine and/or a dessert. So everyone can get to try something different. A collaborative effort that will be fun and effortless.
If making desserts is not an option, I will simply go with a wine tasting party then. Have all the Pacific Rim rieslings available and serve the sweet riesling one almost like a dessert. It is a crisp, fruity and sweet wine that will give your party the perfect ending.
Disclosure: this is a compensated campaign but as always all opinion are 100% my own.
