I really love ingredients that can totally transform a simple recipe. One of my go-to ingredient for this, are green chiles. I add them to rice, soups, meats, even cookies, and of course dips. Making a quick appetizer has never been so simple than this wonderful combination. of avocados, sour cream, cumin, and green chiles. Thanks to the smoky flavor of the green chiles this dip tastes like if you’ve worked really hard for it, when it only takes a few minutes.
This dip is particularly handy for when we need to quickly entertain a guest and serve yummy food in no time, or also for a quick late night craving. And believe, I know about late night cravings, and when I get hungry in the middle of the night the first thing I do is open the fridge to see what I have. Last time this happened, I found myself with an avocado and a bit of sour cream. I immediately thought of making creamy guacamole but I knew I needed to give it a punch of flavor. It is during moments like these, that I pull out the handy green chiles to give my recipes an oomph of flavor that may be missing.
Another super quick trick that you will love is learning the trick to get crispy tortillas at home. This idea is also pretty handy and will be a lifesaver.
All you will need are soft flour tortillas and oil. Just cut your soft tortillas in triangles, and within minutes you’ll have crispy chips to eat this dip with.
Instead of frying them, I found they come out just as crispy by brushing them with oil and baking them.
This is my ultimate favorite way to quickly put together an appetizer that will have everyone wanting more. Enjoy!
