Since Baby E was born, our family dynamic has drastically changed. He has been a blessing for sure and our days, even thou are packed full and super busy, they are much more fun and filled with love. Now that I have less time in my hands I need to come up with creative ways to get things done. Dinner time is one of those things that are not as easy to get ready for. So when I am short on time to get dinner on the table, one of my tricks is to get snacks out that can still satisfy my family or that can hold them until dinner is served.
One of my latest creation has been hummus with delicious toppings. I simply keep several tubs of Sabra Hummus on hand and by adding a few extra ingredients on top, I can turn snacking into a complete meal. Below I tell you more how I get ready for an unofficial meal, and how I make pre-dinner time fun and engaging.
Having snacks around for those times that you can’t get dinner together or for times you have guests over is a great tip, but one must be careful with the type of snacks to have on hand. I like to have wholesome options like fresh vegetables, which I chop ahead of time and have ready on the fridge, healthy sauces and dips like hummus, pre-cooked meats and cheeses work really well as well. These items are all great and easy to come up with a quick solution that everyone will enjoy.
These two creative hummus topping ideas are my ultimate favorite. One the picture above we have Sabra Classic Hummus topped with Spanish chorizo, avocado, and cilantro topped with a squeeze of lime. Below we have Sabra Classic Hummus with ricotta, pesto, and roasted tomatoes.
When I serve this, Mr. B does not complain at all, he loves how fun it is to mixed things up and create a unique hummus dish tailor ti everyones liking. Even Baby E looks like he wants some.
This is a great entertaining idea as well. I find that all my guests are always amazed by the topping creations I put together and how they have never thought of transforming hummus into a complete meal this way. These two ideas I am presenting today will be a hit, so make sure you try them at home.
