As a cheese lover I have so many recipes on this blog made with cheese, I think if I tried to make a list, it would be endless. But because the holidays are approaching and we’re all looking for easy appetizers to serve while entertaining at home or going to a pot-luck party, I’ve decided to put together a super short list of my top-five-ultimate-favorite cheesy appetizers. These are all made with a few ingredients and are all truly super easy to make.
I was inspired to put this list together not only because the holidays are right around the corner but also because I recently attended a Dairy Tour invited by the American Dairy Association and thought this would be the perfect way to tell you guys about it. Don’t miss it below!
HUNGRY FOOD LOVE – BEST CHEESE APPETIZERS
- Sweet and Spicy Cranberry Sauce Over Cream Cheese Ball
- Baked Feta Mediterranean Dip
- Fresh Spinach and Chorizo Dip
- Mushroom and Brie Stuffed Arancini
- Cheesy Fresh Tomato Squares
Please try any of my favorites above and let me know when you do. I love to hear what you think!
For these recipes I used a variety of cheeses from Feta, to Brie, Cream Cheese, Oaxaca, Parmesan, and Cheddar but the one I use the more overall in my every day life has to be cheddar and I was amazed during the tour as we learned and got to experience first hand all about the process of making this cheese. Below you can see a glorious amount of cheese being produced at Yancey’s Fancy.
We also visited Noblehurst Farms as it is not only important to know how our food is made but also where does it come from. The operations at this family owned farm blew my mind from all the family generations involved, their love for farming, supporting each other, taking the best care of the cows and being sustainable.
Finally as those attending the tour were mainly all food lovers, we took some time to whip up recipes using dairy ingredients and I made the original version of this Morir Soñando (which it’s made without Pineapple) and this Queso Blanco Mac and Cheese which is one of the most comforting ways for me to enjoy Mac and Cheese.
This trip was truly a treat and I am so thankful for all the work the American Dairy Association does working with nutrition education and research-based communications while fostering a healthier nation. Most of us consume dairy in so many ways that we don’t even think about it. This is why their work is so important so please follow them and stay up to date.
